Novig
Novig is a sports betting app start-up based in NYC that needed updated assets to help grow their brand's presence. The brief called for designs that were clean, tech oriented, and sports television inspired -- with a touch of playfulness, while working within existing brand guidelines for color and typeface.
One of the assets I created was a logo animation for the Novig app's loading screen. The Novig logo is an abstracted letter N, with a dot serving as the lower left corner. We decided to use different bouncing balls that represent some of the main sports available for betting on Novig's platform, that become the black dot of the logo through a series of slow motion bounces.
Novig also needed new overlays for their weekly livestream shows on X (Twitter). Using Figma, I created designs for a variety of potential needs on screen, such as when the host is speaking alone, during guest appearances, and deep analytical dives. Playing off the brand's color palette of light and dark blues with accents of yellow, I used fine outlines, subtle gradients, and moments of transparency to speak to the company's tech origins with a nod to established sports talk shows like Pardon The Interruption and First Take.
Finally, there was a need for a loading screen in-between shows, that functioned like a screen saver and count down before the start of the live stream. Using a combination of Figma and After Effects, I designed and animated a slowly drifting space of floating pixels that call back to the top bar design of the video overlays, and a glowing countdown clock reminiscent of an NBA shot clock.
