SISSY MOON X GEOMETRY
A collection of six tea towel surface designs created for the California based towel company Geometry. Using basketball inspired patterns and a cool color palette based on an ocean themed planter, I created a fresh feeling set of abstract textile designs.
The clients at Geometry were interested in a new collection based on a previous work of mine, the Oceanside Court Planter — a one-of-a-kind ceramic planter glazed with cool tones on terracotta clay. The color palette evoked the feeling of breezy, salty air, waves, and earthy sand so I took this organic aesthetic to the process of pattern design as well. I created flowing, semi-organic lines using India ink on plastic sheets, and brought those elements into Adobe Illustrator to build the final patterns.
The final collection of six towel designs is available for purchase on the Geometry webshop. The brand’s customer base, mostly women 25-34 years old, were especially drawn to the color palette when the towels were displayed together, showing a gradient of cool pastels.
